BURNS

There is nothing more traumatic for your skin than a severe burn as the skin is the body’s largest organ. Your skin’s job is to help regulate temperature and is always the first line of defense when it comes to infections or outside diseases. There are three different types of burns, each with different levels of severity. First degree burns only affect the outside layer of the skin. This type of burn creates a redness and sensitivity to the touch, such as sunburn. A second degree burn extends a little deeper into the underlying skin and can create blisters and extreme redness. The most severe and painful of skin burns is of course the third degree burn.

When a third degree burn is experienced, each and every layer of skin is affected and this can even include muscle and skin tissues; destroyed. With this type of burn your skin may be red, white, yellow, black or even a dark brown. This can sometimes depend on how the burn occurred and what types of chemicals or materials were involved. What you may be surprised to learn is that with this type of severe burn you will experience little to no pain because the nerves around the area are more than likely already completely damaged so you will feel nothing.

The American Burn Association has released statistics, which state that every year 4,500 people die because of the severe burns they have endured. Throughout the entire USA 45,000 people are admitted to a hospital each and every year to be treated for mild to severe burns. This can be work related accidents, extreme sunburns or suicide attempts. Although there are no ways to cure burns instantly, there are some different natural treatments that can help speed up the healing process and lessen the pain for burn patients of all levels.

  • First, you can use a spray form of colloidal silver, which acts as a natural antibiotic and is used to help heal burns and promote fast healing.
  • Aloe Vera gel can be applied externally to the burn as needed, which will help eliminate pain and aid in the healing process.
  • Free-Form Amino Acid complex should be taken as directed and can be used to help speed up the healing of your skin, tissues and muscles.
  • Vitamin E is a great source of healing that not only helps your skin heal but it also can prevent the risks of scarring when your burn has healed. Begin with a dosage of 600 IU on a daily basis and slowly increase to 1,600 IU per day. You can also apply the Vitamin E oil from the capsule directly on any scars.
  • 1 tablespoon of powered Vitamin C can be added to 1 quart of water and used as a spray on the burn.

If you have endured a third degree burn you should immediately visit a hospital and be treated thoroughly. Once your third degree burn has been treated professionally and you have entered the healing process, than you can start creating a new routine of natural remedies to speed up the healing process.

Always watch your burned areas closely for any signs of infection, pus or odors as this may be a sign that your burn is not healing properly and more underlying problems could be brewing.
